Ableton Live NYC User Group

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

(to be announced in the voice of Professor Farnsworth)-

“Great News Everybody!”

Micah Frank of Puremagnetik is hosting the Ableton Live NYC User Group for May and they have asked me to be the featured artist. kickass!

This is a great opportunity to see how i do what i do and make the noises i make and to hear some music and hangout with other like-minded Ableton Live users. I plan on divulging some of my secrets of how i use Ableton Live to bounce my bass sounds off of Scalar Electromagnetic waves as well filtering drums through underwater SONAR grids! I will also discuss how Ableton Live helped me conceive and write my new album as a live electronic extravaganza.

NOTE: This is an all skill level event so even if you have just opened Ableton Live once or are just forging into digital audio for the first time there will be no stupid questions and a ton to learn. From the NYC User Groups I have attended in the past, it is a truly musically diverse and extremely talented group so come on out!

The agenda for the evening is as follows:

1. Elijah B Torn artist profile
2. Elijah will play his set and discuss how he uses Live
3. Q&A with attendees about Elijah and Puremagnetik

Time and place:
Friday May 30th 7-9pm

there are some tracks from The Headhunters, Herbie Hancock, Das EFX, Squarepusher, Prefuse73, Jeru The Damaja, Royksopp, Parliament, DJ Shadow, Outkast, Gang Starr, Boards of Canada, GZA, Kool Keith, Company Flow, Q-Tip, Aphex Twin, Bjork, The Roots, Múm, Silver Apples and Octofist
